Thanks for all your support!
Dear Friends of PSOT,
Thank you to all of you who have sent contributions for our current appeal to raise $97,000 before August 31, 2009. Since the beginning of July, we have raised almost $32,000. This amount is an enormous fundraising success for such a short period of time. We send our sincerest thanks to all the friends of PSOT that have made contributions that allow us to provide life saving services to survivors of torture and war trauma.
We still need your help though! In order to meet our goal, we still need to raise $65,000
before August 31, 2009. Please consider making a donation to the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture in August. As you know, PSOT is the first and only program in the New York City area providing comprehensive medical, mental health and social services to refugees who have endured torture, war trauma and other human rights abuses. In the past year alone, we cared for nearly 700 men, women and children from 71 countries. PSOT must raise more than 90% of its operating costs from grants and private donors. Our fundraising goal of $97,000 in unrestricted funds will allow us to restore valuable social services to our clients.
A donation from you will help restore the physical, psychological and social well-being of individuals who have endured unspeakable horrors. It will support our work assisting clients to receive asylum and green cards, in turn allowing them to work. It will help guarantee access to English as a Second Language and High School Equivalency programs.
We know you are receiving solicitations from many worthy organizations. We ask you to make a gift to the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture before August 31, 2009. Your gift will allow us to continue our work, now more important than ever.
Thank you for your consideration. Please forward this email to friends and colleagues.
Sincerely,
Allen Keller, M.D.
